Details are provided in the documents below. Chapter 261B of the Iowa Code requires that the College be registered by the Secretary of State. Before being registered by the Secretary of State, the College must be approved for operation by Iowa College Aid under Chapters 261 and 261B of the Iowa Code. Senate File 270 of the 2009 legislative session transferred the postsecondary registration duties of the Secretary of State to the Iowa College Student Aid Commission. The law takes effect on July 1, 2009. The application will be administered under the current law until that date, and will be administered under the law as amended after July 1, as none of the changes affect this application. The Iowa College Student Aid Commission may consider comments from the Iowa Coordinating Council for Post High School Education that are received by the Commission within ninety days of the filing of the application, which is September 14, 2009. If the Coordinating Council meets to consider comments for submission to the Commission, the meeting is required to be open to the public and subject to the provisions of Iowa Code Chapter 21. The Commission is required to take action on the application by December 13, 2009. Following are links to the application: |
